Does Frontera Have a MICHELIN Star?

Frontera, one of Chicago’s most beloved restaurants, has been a staple in the city for decades. The restaurant was opened in 1987 by Chef Rick Bayless and has since gained a reputation for its Mexican-inspired cuisine. Since then, Frontera has been awarded numerous accolades, including the James Beard Foundation’s Outstanding Restaurant award in 2007.

Frontera has also been recognized by the prestigious Michelin Guide as a Bib Gourmand restaurant since 2010. A Bib Gourmand is awarded to restaurants that offer high quality meals at an affordable price. The Michelin Guide is well-known for awarding its stars to only the best restaurants and hotels around the globe.

The question remains: Does Frontera have a MICHELIN Star? Unfortunately, Frontera has not yet been awarded a coveted MICHELIN Star by the guide. While it has received numerous awards and recognition from other organizations such as the James Beard Foundation, it still lacks that coveted star from Michelin.

Frontera is still considered one of Chicago’s premier dining destinations and is beloved by locals and visitors alike for its flavorful Mexican cuisine. Despite not having a MICHELIN Star, Frontera continues to remain one of Chicago’s top dining destinations and should be on any foodie’s list when visiting the Windy City.

In conclusion, while Frontera has achieved great success through awards such as being named an Outstanding Restaurant by the James Beard Foundation in 2007 and being recognized as a Bib Gourmand restaurant since 2010 by the Michelin Guide, it does not currently have a MICHELIN Star. However, this does not take away from its status as one of Chicago’s premier dining destinations with delicious Mexican inspired cuisine that should not be missed when visiting the city.
